Use this program to set the date and time for the user’s terminal.
Usually, the system date and time are already set when you start up the system. If for some reason the date is incorrect, or for example, the user wants to set the date back a day to finish up yesterday’s work, the day and time can be changed.
On some computer systems an ERROR=18 results when attempting to change date or time if the user does not have permissions set correctly for the host operating system. Should this occur, abort the procedure and attempt again when proper permissions have been assigned.
The following fields are involved in setting the date and time. The current system date and time are displayed.
1. New Date
Enter the new date. If the day is set more than three days from the current date a warning is given, but the day is still set to its new value. CR defaults to the current date.
If you are not logged onto your system as the super user, the new time field is skipped and is set to the current system time.
2. New Time
Enter the new time (HH:MM ?M). The M after the question mark (?) refers to A.M. or P.M. Enter A or P in place of the question mark (?). ENTER (CR) defaults to the current system time.
3. Correct Date And Time
Enter Y or N to indicate the new date and time are correct. ENTER (CR) defaults to Y and the program returns to the menu.
