Input Descriptions

The following controls relate to Blanket Sales Orders:

1. Default Update Usage

Indicate the default for updating usage for blanket order line items. For each line item entered on a blanket sales order, the user sets an update usage flag. This flag tells the system when the item is sold, whether to update the usage of that item. When usage of an item is updated, this affects the restocking controls and the information calculated and printed on the Replenishment Report. When usage is not updated the system does not consider that usage in replenishment. Press Enter (CR) to initially default to unselected.

2. Override Usage Flag

For each line item entered on a blanket sales order, the user sets an update usage flag. This flag tells the system when the item is sold, whether to update the usage of that item (see previous input). Enter whether to allow the user to override this update usage flag for blanket order line items. Options: Y - Always allow override, N - Never allow override or P - Allow override if warehouse approval password is entered. Press Enter (CR) to initially default to Y.

3. Lead Time Add Days

Enter the default number of days to add to the lead time for release of blanket orders (0-999). For each line item entered on a blanket sales order, the user may enter additional days to add to the lead time for that item to be released. The lead time entered in this static record may be overridden by line item. This add days feature allows the user to enter any additional padding that might be needed for that item. For example, some items might require an additional day of padding due to where the item is stored or how long is takes to process an order for the item. Press Enter (CR) to initially default to 0.

4. Release Basis

Enter the default release basis for blanket sales orders. Options: L - Longest lead time of all items for a specific date, F - Fixed number of days or G - Greater of longest lead time and fixed number of days.

Press Enter (CR) to initially default to L. This release basis determines whether the release date is calculated based on lead time, based on a fixed number of days or the greater of the two. If set to the greater of the two, the system looks at both the fixed number of days set for the blanket order and compares to the longest lead time of all items on the order. Whichever is greater is what is then used to calculate the release date.

5. Fixed Release Days

This input is only available if F or G was entered in the previous input. Enter the default value for the fixed number of days for blanket order release. This is the default for the fixed days field in the Blanket Sales Order Entry program and may be overridden by each blanket order.
