Estimators are the employees responsible for making the job cost estimates. Assign estimators to estimates in the Estimate Entry program.
Managers are responsible for the job costs after the estimate has been converted to a job. Managers are mainly used once the job estimate is accepted and the estimate has been converted. Some distributors may employ the same people to estimate and manage costs. The system allows for this by letting the user enter estimators into the Estimate subsystem.
Managers and estimators are stored in the same file; however, their usage is stored separately. In other words, if you opt to have a manager estimate as well as manage, the system tracks the results of that manager as an estimator and a manager independently.
