System Control F/M (SMF950) Field Descriptions

These prompts are used to create the system control record.

To set up the System Control F/M, complete these fields.

General tab

*1. Serial Number

Enter the FACTS Serial Number that displays in the upper left-hand portion of the FACTS Authorization Code Sheet. Make sure what you enter exactly matches the number that displays on the sheet.

*2. Main Company Name

Enter the Main Company Name that displays on the FACTS Authorization Code Sheet. Make sure the name you enter exactly matches the name that displays on the sheet. This field is case sensitive.

*3. Facts Level

This field is set to default to the current revision level. Press Enter to accept the default.

*4. FACTS Users

Enter the maximum number of users that can be logged onto FACTS at any time as determined by your purchase agreement. This displays on the Authorization Code Sheet as Max FACTS Users. Press Enter to initially default to 20.

If you increase the number of terminals in this field, System Control F/M also expands/reduces the appropriate fields in SMNAME when the number of terminals field value is increased/decreased.

 5. ALF Expiration

Enter the expiration date of your company’s annual FACTS software license.

6Affiliate Name

Enter the name of the local Affiliate office. This name can be up to 30 characters long and displays on the Banner Screen (in character mode) or the Sign On Screen (in graphical mode).

7Affiliate Phone

Enter the Affiliate office’s phone number, including area code and dashes (up to 17 characters). The phone number is displayed on the FACTS Banner Screen in character mode. In GUI, this phone number and other Affiliate information displays when users press the Affiliate button on the Sign On screen.

Modules tab

*8. FACTS 8-Pack, Optional Modules, Integrations

The list of modules purchased displays on the FACTS Authorization Code Sheet under the Main Company name. All check boxes for the modules should be set selected when you first enter this program. Refer to the Authorization Code Sheet and for each two-letter module code listed on the sheet, make sure there is a check next to the module on the screen. Deselect the modules codes not listed on the sheet

In the Authorization Settings section of the screen, complete this information.

9. Source Code

Select the source code setting for this system. You can select from Y-Source code is authorized for this system or N-Source code is not authorized for this system.

Settings tab

1. RW Users

In the General RW 6+section of the screen, enter the specifications for Report Writer software. In the CUI field, enter the number of users on the character FACTS system that use General RW 6+. In the GUI field, enter the number of users on the graphical FACTS system that use General RW 6+.

2. FACTS API: Polling, Secondary Polling and Output

In the FACTS API section enter the Polling, Secondary Polling and Output directory names and paths. Note that the Polling and Output fields are required.

3. TCP/IP Addr;Port

Specify a system-wide setting for internal publishing via TCP/IP.
Note: When the TCP/IP address and Port settings are entered Company Control F/M (SMF920), these values can be defaulted here to System Control F/M (SMF950) and used by the API processor if the Company level setting is omitted.

4. Request Log

Indicate whether you want to activate the logging function for requests when using the API toolkit to publish data.

5. Response Log

Indicate whether you want to activate the logging function for responses when using the API toolkit to publish data.

6. API Timeout Alert Interval

Enter the number of minutes to use for the time out for recording the alert and sending the email to the user(s).

7. eStorefront Integration

In the eStorefront Integration section, enter the Environment ID.

8. Disable Background

Indicates that background processes will not be launched by API program SMU954. Note that this setting initially defaults to selected (checked) to allow system administrators time to complete any data conversion processes and handle any necessary tasks before the background processes start. After the conversion is finished and all initial setup tasks are complete, the Disable Background setting in System Control F/M must be changed to unselected (unchecked), so the SMU954 program will start processing background tasks.

9. Raise Alerts

Indicate whether to raise user-subscribed alerts at the system level.

Security tab

1. User Tracking

Select this check box to activate user tracking to monitor user activity system -wide. User Tracking enabled on a system-wide level quickly depletes disk space.

2. Menu Timeout

The menu timeout is a security feature that lets you set the number of minutes users can leave a terminal inactive before the system automatically signs them off the system. The menu timeout does not work while users are working in a program.

Set the timeout for anywhere between one and 99 minutes. Enter 0 if you never want the timeout feature to activate. Press Enter (CR) to initially default to 10 minutes.

In the User Password section of the screen complete this information.

3. Default Allowed Characters

Specify the default list of allowed characters for controlled fields, other than space, 0-9, A-Z, and a-z. Press F1 to use this list of typical standard symbols: .-_|$*'+^`~@:.

This is the white-list of characters typically allowed in controlled fields, in addition to the standard alpha/numeric characters.The list applies to all data classes that are set to Limit Characters and Use Defaults in Data Class Control Setup (SME640). Note: Non-controlled fields and data classes allow all characters. This list only applies to data classes that are set to Limit Characters in Data Class Control Setup. Users can override this list if they choose in Data Class Control Setup.

4. Minimum Password Length

Enter the minimum number of letters/characters for the password.  

5. Minimum Alpha Characters

Enter the minimum number of alpha characters for the password.  

6. Minimum Numeric Characters

Enter the minimum number of numeric characters for the password.  

7. Minimum Special Characters

Enter the minimum number of special characters for the password.  

8. Frequency of Password Change

Enter the number of days by which users are required to change their passwords.  

9. Days to start warning

Enter the number of days to stat warning user of required password change.

10. Days Before Password Reuse

Enter the number of days before a password can be reused in the system.  

11. Invalid Login Attempts

Enter the number of times a user can unsuccessfully attempting to log in to the system before the user account is disabled.

Email tab

In the Email Settings section complete these fields to set up the email settings necessary for emailing remittances & system-generated emails. For FACTS’ emailing capabilities to be operational, you must have purchased the ProvideX Internet Toolkit or have the ProvideX Pro-Bundle. The system must have the Internet toolkit or Pro-Bundle for these fields to be enabled.

1. Email Server Name

Enter the email server name.

2. Server Socket

Enter the email server socket If the Email Server Name is blank, this field will be disabled.

3. Secure

Indicate whether this is a secure server socket.
Note: Email traffic on port 465 (server socket value) requires a secure SSL/TLS connection. (Check box selected.) Email traffic on port 587 (server socket value) requires non-secure STARTTLS connection. (Check box unselected.) Then a secure connection is negotiated by the email server.

4. Authentication User

Enter the user name for server authentication. If the Email Server Name is blank, this field will be disabled.

5. Password

Enter the password for server authentication. If either of the Email Server Name or Authentication User fields is blank, this field will be disabled. Note: This entry is encrypted and is displayed as ****** (asterisks).

You can select the Test Email button to test the email settings. If the Email Server is blank, this button will be disabled.

6. From Email

Enter the email address to indicate where email is from when sending system-generated alerts.

7. Reply Email

Enter the email address to indicate where email sent from when replying to system-generated alerts.

Archiving Tab

For Unform Archiving, complete this information.

1. Server Name

The server name for the archive library location.

2. Port Address

The port address for the archive library location.

3. CGI Path

The Common Gateway Interface path for the archive library directory.

4. Unform Client Command

The Unform Client Executable command name.--If this field is left blank, the default command will be used ("uf90c").   If the default UnForm client version is not installed, the alternate command can be entered here.

5. Use Secure URL (HTTPS):

Indicate whether to use secure communications by using an HTTPS:/ url.

Help Text tab

For help file location, complete this information.

1. Primary

The directory path for the primary folder location for the FACTS online help files. Click the Help icon to validate that the path entered is actually correct and functioning.

2. Alternate

The directory path for the alternate folder location for the FACTS online help files. Click the Help icon to validate that the path entered is actually correct and functioning.

EWMS tab

For entry of the company code for the EWMS processing company, complete this information. This tab is not be visible if the system isn’t authorized for EW.

1. EWMS Company

Enter the company code for the EWMS processing company. Changing to a company that has a conflict between the MC module and the WMS Edition will alert the user with a message and not allow the change until the conflict is resolved.

Note: The A1W “Collect Edition” does not allow use of the FACTS MC module. (The other two editions, Manage and Fulfill, do.)

Auto Sign-In tab

1. Allow Auto Sign-In

Indicate whether the Auto Sign-In (ASI) feature is allowed on this system. If selected, any user with the appropriate settings is able to use ASI as long as ASI is also permitted at the company level.

2. IP Address Mask (optional)

Specify the list of TCP/IP address masks which the user’s TCP/IP address must match to be allowed to use ASI. If no masks are entered, there is no restriction on IP addresses that can use ASI.

System Administrator Note: If the Allow Auto Sign-In setting is unchecked and the record is saved, the system essentially “forgets” that every user has previously signed in and forces them all to provide log-in credentials at the next attempt to access FACTS.
