SO Companion Item Entry (SOE150) field descriptions

Use these fields to set up companion items.

1. Item

Specify item for which you want to associate companion items.

When adding an item an Alert icon is displayed above the Item prompt to indicate if the Item F/M (ICF910) Active check box is not checked, the item is already a companion item, or if the Item Type setting is ‘not stocked”or, if the item is itself already a parent or line companion item. Click the icon for details.

2. UM

Specify the item’s unit of measure. The system displays the item’s default unit of measure.  

3. Active

Indicate whether this SO parent companion item is active. If you uncheck this box, this parent companion item is inactive, and the date the item was disabled is displayed. The SO companion item is not available for import in the SO Companion Item Selection (SOE151) dialog box unless the Active check box is selected.

Displaying companion usage

Optionally click Companion Usage Display to view usage for parent companion items. In the grid, optionally click Companion Line Usage Display for companion line items.

Indicate what to display:

Click OK to display the Companion Items File Overview screen with the item usage. To print this overview, check the Print Usage Info box and specify a print option. Click OK.

In the grid in the lower portion of the screen, the system displays any companion items previously associated with this item. Click:

Edit-to make changes for the highlighted companion item.

Add a companion item.

Insert a line item above the highlighted companion item in the browser.

Delete the highlighted companion item

When you edit, add, or insert a companion item, the system displays thesefields:

3. SO Companion Item

Specify the item number for the item you want to associate as a companion.  

4. Quantity

Specify the quantity of this item to associate.

5. UM

Specify the UM for the item you are associating as a companion.  

6. Effective Date

The date the companion line item is available for import to orders

7. Expires Date

The date the companion line item is no longer available for import

8. Persistent

Indicate whether this parent companion and associated companion line items should remain in the system. In System Clean Up F/M (SMF993), you delete parent companion items that are inactive for a specified number of months. If you check the Persistent check box, the SO parent companion item cannot be removed System Clean Up F/M.

9. Note/Memo

Specify any note or memo text to associate with the SO companion item when it is added to an order.

10. Memo Line

In the Memo Line section indicate whether to print the text you entered in the Note/Memo field as a memo line when this companion item is added to an order by selecting the Print check box and indicate whether to export the memo line when the companion item is added to an order by selecting the Export check box.

In the AutoAdd section, indicate the type companion item functionality used by the individual Order Entry Programs: Quote Entry, Order Entry, Confirmation, Invoice Entry, Counter Sales Entry.

11.-15. Quote Entry, Confirmation, Counter Sale Entry, Order Entry, Invoice Entry

For each of the programs listed you can select:

A - Always Add (i.e. the system will add it to the document automatically with no intervention by the user) .

Y - Default to Y (i.e. the user may choose to add it to the document or not but it will be defaulted to
Yes to automatically add it to the given document type).

N - Default to N (i.e. the user may choose to add it to the document or not but it will be defaulted to
No to not automatically add it to the given document type).

X - Not Applicable (i.e. is not offered at all)--the system does not display the SO Companion Items Selection dialog box during line-item entry.

17. Click OK to save the companion item.

18. When the system returns you to main SO Companion Item Entry screen,save your changes.
