SO Side Bar

Use the SO Side Bar to display additional ordering information while in the Sales Order Entry program suite for quick selection and viewing. This provides information about ordering habits for the specified customer and information about items in the line item section of Quote Entry, Order Entry, Confirmation Entry, Direct Invoice Entry, Credit Memo Entry and Counter Sales Entry to facilitate efficient ordering choices.

Click Show/Hide to toggle the Side Bar display off and on. Select a view from the drop box. For views with drag and drop functionality, click and drag one or multiple lines at a time to the line item section of Order Entry (SOE210), Quote Entry (SEO110), Confirmation Entry (SOE310), Direct Invoice Entry (SOE320), Credit Memo Entry (SOE330) and Counter Sales Entry (SOE510). Click Reload to refresh the contents displayed in the Side Bar area list box. Scrolling and go to page options are available in the lower right corner of the list box.

You can use the Side Bar for research and review after you specify an item. Limiting, scrolling and double click actions, when available, are also enabled during line entry. Drag and Drop during line entry is not allowed.

To drag and drop items in Credit Memo line entry, the return code is determined is this manner. The system reads the list of items already being returned (from selected line, upwards) and retrieves the return code from a prior item with a matching return or allowance value. If this fails, the system reads the Return Codes file for a matching return or allowance value and return the code for the first found code. If this fails, the user is prompted to enter a valid return code.

P-Prior Purchases Displays past invoices. This is customer-specific and does not change with item selection. X Double click a line to launch Past Invoice Inquiry (SOI620) for the selected invoice.
p-Item Purchases Displays the selected item’s current open purchase orders for that single item. This is item-specific and contents change with item selection.   Double click a line to launch the PO Document Inquiry (POI620) for the line selected.
SO-companion items Displays all top-level companion items for all items currently on the order. Parent items are also listed. This is item-specific and contents change with items ordered. X Double click a line to launch the Item Inquiry (ICI610) Warehouse view for the item selected.
L-Long Term Surplus Displays items with long term surplus in the Initiating Warehouse. Additional warehouses with long term surplus are included if the Multiple Warehouses check box is selected in SO Static Control F/M and are valid for SO in Warehouse F/M (ICF970). If the customer has purchased this item in the past, the indicator column displays “Y” and the quantity. Negative values (returns) are changed to positive. This is customer-specific and does not change with item selection. X Double click a line to display the Change Long Term Surplus Quantity window to change the order quantity. Click Refresh to reset all quantities and values to their initial amounts.
S-standard orders Displays the standard order lines for the customer. This is customer-specific and does not change with item selection. X Double click a line to launch Standard Order Entry (SOE250). The side bar list box is updated and redisplayed when you exit Standard Order Entry.
R-Price Contracts Displays price contracts for the customer or customer price class, as well as any contract for all customers. The displayed contracts are not item specific and can include items, classes and other information, which is not specific to this order.   Double click a line to launch the Contract Price Entry (SOE560) (as inquiry only).
Q-Quotes Displays unexpired quotes for the customer. This is customer-specific and does not change with item selection. X Double click a line to launch Quote Inquiry (SOI620) window for the selected quote.
C-Customer Items Displays items for this customer. This is customer-specific and does not change with item selection.   Double click a line to launch the Customer/Item F/M (SOF545).
N-Notes Displays notes based on customer and item. This is customer-specific and item-specific. The contents related to the customer will not change, but content may change with item selection in Order entry.   Select a note and double-click to launch the Note Entry (SME710) for the line and type (Customer or Document (header); Line or Item (line).
W-Warehouse quantities Displays the warehouse quantities for that selected line. All warehouse’s quantities for a selected item on the order are displayed. This is item-specific and contents change with items ordered in Order Entry.   There is no further action in this view.
P-Price Options Displays the selected item’s current price options. Temporary items are omitted. This is item-specific and contents change with items ordered.   There is no further action in this view.
D-On Order Displays the selected item’s current open orders for this customer (for a single item). Deleted, voided, in-register, confirmed, and Service and Repair documents are skipped. This is item-specific and contents change with items ordered.   There is no further action in this view.
o-open orders Displays open orders for the customer for the selected item. This is item-specific and contents change with items ordered.   Select a line and double click to launch the Document Inquiry (SOI620) for open sales orders.
t-Timeline Displays the selected item’s current timeline for that single item (and its shipping warehouse). Temporary items are omitted. This is item-specific and contents change with items ordered.   Select a line and double click to launch the inquiry corresponding to the selected line type (if the document is available).
T-Contacts Displays contacts corresponding to the customer and ship-to of this order. The Type column indicates if the contact is “C” a customer contact or “S” a ship to contact. This is customer-specific and does not change with item selection.   There is no further action in this view.
r-Resources Displays resources for the customer, item and item class and the item’s primary vendor. Customer-specific as well as item-specific. The contents related to the customer will not change, but content may change with item selection.   Select a line and double click to launch the Supplemental Resource Manager (SMC910).
B-PO companion items Displays all top-level PO companion items for all items currently on the order. The parent item name is also displayed. This is item-specific and contents change with items ordered. X Double click a line to launch the Item Inquiry (ICI610) Warehouse view for the item selected.
