Notes are useful for documenting miscellaneous information about each vendor, item, customer document, or account used in FACTS.
For these inquiry programs, you can add or modify notes via Options>Item Notes, Vendor Notes, or Customer Notes menu option as appropriate.

Item Inquiry (ICI610)
PO Vendor Inquiry (POI610), SO Customer Inquiry (SOI610)
PO Document Inquiry (POI620)
The system displays the Note Entry (SME710) program. Refer to Managing notes for AR documents, customers, items, or vendors for step-by-step instructions.
For other inquiry programs, click the Note icon or View>Notes from the menu bar to view and create notes.
For character-interface programs complete these steps.
1. Access the Notes view of the inquiry.
Any notes on file for the selected record will appear in the Notes window. If no notes exist, the system asks Enter notes for this [record]?
2. Enter Y to begin entering notes.
You can enter up to 70 characters on each line and up to 99 lines for each record (assuming the lines are incremented by 10).
Start a new line by pressing the Enter key.
Press F3 when you are finished entering notes.
Once notes have been added, or if notes already exist, these options are available:

Line number to change. Notes can be changed or deleted by entering the line number. Specify whether to Change or Delete. If D is entered, the line is deleted. If C is entered, enter text (up to 70 characters). During this change routine, F1 defaults to the currently displayed value of the field. F3 ends entry of lines. F4 backs up to the line number; enter the new line number. If a new line number is added, the old line number is deleted. F2 allows you to change the number increments (1-10). F4 backs up to the main field. |
L |
Lists line numbers. A limited number line-numbers appear on the screen at any time. The list function allows line-numbers to be redisplayed. Specify the beginning line number to list. |
A |
Adds a line number. New line numbers can be added as needed. F3 ends entry of lines. F4 backs up to the line number, enter the new line number. F2 allows the user to set the line number increment (1-10). F4 (from line number) will back up and delete the previous line. |
M |
Moves a line number. Specify beginning line number to move. Specify ending line number to move. Specify line number where text will be moved (existing lines will be replaced). One line at a time or blocks of lines can be moved. |
D |
Deletes a line number. One line or several lines of notes can be deleted at any one time. Specify beginning and ending line numbers to delete. Specify N or YES to delete. Press Enter to default to N. |
F4 |
Exits the Notes Entry window. |
