Use the Places Were Security Code is Used screen to quickly identify all programs where the security code is used.
For more information how to use maintenances, refer to the following topics:
How to use file maintenance programs
Note: Developers have additional options on the "Places" screen which are not documented here.
1. Show All Security Codes
Iindicates you want to expand the contents of the list view to include all security codes. The contents of the list view can be sorted by clicking on the titles of the columns.
In browser in the lower portion of the screen select the code you want to re-analyze or edit. You can also right-click on a highlighted line to view the options below.
In most cases, you can edit the line that is highlighted in the browser. Editing the line will access the program that is appropriate for the highlighted line. If the highlighted line is for a company that you are not signed into, you will not be allowed to edit the line. Users are not allowed to edit metadata from this program. To edit where the code is used, select the icon and update the code description.
The Options drop down menu is also available to go directly to programs which are used to maintain security codes.
Click Reanalyze for FACTS to read all of the system data to catalog all security codes being used throughout the system, for all companies.
Note: Because changes to security codes can impact more than just the highlighted line, and because the Analyze process can take awhile to complete, changes made to security codes while in any of these programs are NOT immediately visible when returning to the "Places" screen. You must select Reanalyze for the changes to be visible.
